Networking, Security, and System Administration requires 3 quarters of co-op experience. Co-op is short for co-operative education, and is a system in which you, the student, gain real-life work experience. You will be paid for the job, but more important, you gain on-the-job experience that is valuable when you graduate and begin to search for a full-time position. To help facilitate your finding a job, The Office of Cooperative Education and Career Services at RIT maintains job listings from companies all across the US that are looking for co-op students to work for them.
Refer to the Undergraduate Handbook for details of co-op criteria, salary, and scheduling.
